Earth Goddess
Product description
Engraved statuette of the Earth goddess with grain. The Sheaf of grain means fertility and harvest. The statuette is slightly inspired by the folk culture and folk embroidery, but also by the finds of statuettes from the Stone Age (Neolithic). Some statuettes from this period from the Tripoli culture (Tripillia, Tripillia Cucuteni, circa 5200 - 3000 BC) had the symbol of a cross-divided diamond on them. Our statuette has this symbol under its neck. According to our current interpretation, it is a symbol of the field, and figuratively of the Earth. Sometimes there are dots in the fields of the cross, which in our opinion symbolize the seeds and the sown field. Linden wood polished with glaze.
